A man identified as Silvester Byaruhanga has been electrocuted by a live electric wire in Kabale municipality.
According to preliminary reports, at around 8:20 a.m. in Bugongi Road Cell, Lower Bugongi Ward, Northern Division, Kabale Municipality, an electric wire snapped and remained hanging dangerously along the road.
While walking past, Byaruhanga allegedly attempted to remove the wire to clear the way. In the process, he was electrocuted and died instantly.
Police were alerted by a neighbor identified as Collins. Officers responded to the scene, documented the incident, and conveyed the body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
Police spokesperson for Kigezi Region, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident, noting that investigations are underway.
