The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) has announced new senior appointments within its Air Force command in a move aimed at strengthening leadership and enhancing operational coordination.
In a press release issued on Saturday night, the RDF said the President of the Republic of Rwanda and Commander-in-Chief of the RDF has appointed a senior officer as Presidential Pilot and Advisor to the Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence Staff on Air Force matters.
The President also appointed Col. Dan Gatsinzi as Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations, a role that places him at the centre of day-to-day operational planning and execution within the Air Force.
According to the RDF, both appointments take immediate effect.
The changes come as Rwanda continues to invest in the professionalisation and modernisation of its defence forces, with particular emphasis on air capabilities, operational readiness and strategic advisory capacity within the military command structure.
The announcement underscores continued confidence in experienced officers to steer key Air Force functions at a time of evolving defence priorities and heightened regional security concerns.
