Washington D.C., USA: The Minister of Finance (General Duties), Hon. Henry Musasizi, has called for greater regional cooperation to accelerate global efforts in climate finance and sustainable development.

Speaking on behalf of Uganda at the 14th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action in Washington D.C., Minister Musasizi emphasized that regional synergies must be fully utilized to enhance the Coalition’s effectiveness.

Uganda currently serves as a co-chair of the Coalition and has held the position for the past six months. Minister Musasizi revealed that, together with other African member countries, Uganda is working towards establishing an African Platform for Finance Ministers, which will be launched in Lusaka, Zambia, during the African regional deputies’ meeting in December 2025.
