The Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, has asked the leadership of the National Housing and Construction Company (NHCC) to focus on strategic direction and business diversification to support Uganda’s Tenfold Growth Agenda.

Minister Musasizi made the call on Friday when he met the NHCC leadership, led by board chairman Sylvester Wanjuzi Wasieba and chief executive officer Kenneth Kaijuka, who briefed him on the operations and strategic direction of the company.

Wasieba told the minister that NHCC is positioning itself to become Uganda’s leading developer of mass housing under the sustainable urbanisation and housing programme of the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV).

The 62-year-old company was established under the National Corporation Act of 1964 and is mandated to increase Uganda’s housing stock by developing homes in well-planned environments.
