Lutwaama Isaac Magandaazi, a well-known land grabber in Mityana District, has been charged with obtaining money by false pretences at the Mityana Chief Magistrate’s Court. He has been remanded until April 9, 2026.

The charges, brought by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force’s Criminal Investigations Directorate and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, relate to a fraudulent land sale between March and August 2020.

Lutwaama allegedly claimed to be selling land at Block 24, Plot 53 in Nawanga, Zigoti Town Council—property he did not own. Through this deception, he fraudulently obtained Shs 37 million from a victim. Investigators established that the land had a rightful owner and that Lutwaama misled the complainant into believing he was the legitimate proprietor.
