With the election season gaining momentum in Bufumbira North Constituency, incumbent MP and Independent aspirant Hon. John Nizeyimana Kamara has placed household income improvement at the centre of his campaign agenda, proposing poultry farming as a practical tool for economic upliftment.

During a rally in Bugara Ward, Kyinanira Cell in Mupaka Town Council on Friday, Kamara announced a plan to support each household with ten hens. He argued that poultry farming offers quick and sustainable returns, enabling families to cover essential needs such as school fees, food, and other household requirements.

Kamara said the constituency has previously benefited from collaborative poverty-reduction efforts, including tea projects and community development initiatives. He noted that these experiences have shaped his approach, emphasizing the need for strategies that directly boost family incomes.

Residents who spoke after the rally acknowledged the role of the MP in providing tools, supporting tea growers, and responding to community needs over the years. While they welcomed the poultry proposal for its potential to generate regular income, some residents also highlighted unresolved issues, including the need for expanded electricity access in Kyinanira and neighbouring areas.
