President Yoweri Museveni has called on Ugandans to celebrate Christmas in a spirit of peace and unity, noting that the country is experiencing stability alongside strong agricultural and industrial production.

In a message posted his X-handle addressed to all Ugandans, particularly the Bazzukulu, President Museveni acknowledged that while about 30% of the population remains outside the formal money economy, government programs such as PDM, Emyooga, ghetto funds, and the boda boda fund provide opportunities to lift citizens out of poverty.

He also addressed corruption, stating that it continues primarily due to underreporting, but that reported cases are dealt with decisively, citing the case of Kazinda as an example.

The President expressed optimism about Uganda’s future, calling for prayers for peace across Africa and advocating for continued economic and political integration to strengthen markets and regional security.
