The Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, has warmly received a delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Ms. Rao Huihoa, Director General of the party’s International Liaison Department, on a working visit to Uganda.
Speaking during a welcome dinner on Sunday night at the Serena Hotel, Rt. Hon. Todwong emphasized the strategic and historic ties between the NRM and the CPC, as well as the enduring friendship between Uganda and the People’s Republic of China.
“You are most welcome. Your three-day working visit is a significant occasion for both our parties and our nations,” Todwong remarked.
Earlier in the day, the CPC delegation was received at Entebbe International Airport by Hon. James Tweheyo and Maj. (Rtd) Awich Pollar, the NRM’s Director of External Affairs.
“It is a pleasure to welcome the delegation to Uganda, a peaceful and beautiful nation straddling the equator, blessed with one of the world’s most favourable climates,” Todwong said.
Highlighting the deep-rooted relationship between the NRM and CPC, he added: “Your visit gives us the opportunity to reflect on our long-standing cooperation and to explore new areas of collaboration that will further strengthen our partnership.”
He also reaffirmed Uganda’s stability and security under the leadership of President Yoweri Museveni and wished the visiting delegation a productive and enjoyable stay.
In her response, Ms. Rao Huihoa expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the NRM leadership.
She voiced optimism about the outcomes of the visit and underscored the shared benefits of sustained collaboration between the two parties.
