The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat has thrown its weight behind the upcoming MK 52nd Birthday Run, injecting Shs30 million worth of kits in a move expected to boost participation and add momentum to one of Uganda’s fastest-growing mass sporting events.

Speaking on Wednesday during a visit to the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretariat, NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, who personally contributed Shs10 million, hailed the run as more than just a fitness event, describing it as a unifying platform that rallies especially the youth around patriotism, community service and shared national values.

Todwong also paid tribute to Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, noting that the run, held in celebration of his 52nd birthday, symbolizes experience, resilience and a continued commitment to national service.
