KISORO: A 35 -year -old Woman has died aboard a Kampala bound Jaguar bus.
The deceased, identified as Mulakigeri Flavia, a peasant and resident of Chondo village, Rukongi Parish, Nyarusiza sub county in Kisoro district, had been battling breast cancer for the past three years, receiving treatment at the Cancer Institute in Mbarara.
According to a police statement, her condition worsened this week on Tuesday morning, prompting her caretakers to rush her to Mbarara. After being discharged yesterday, they boarded a Jaguar bus back to Kisoro.
Unfortunately, she passed away while they were en route, at Ntungamo. The caretaker chose to remain silent until they arrived in Kisoro around 6:00 PM and informed the police.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, stated that the scene of the crime was visited by the district SOC and a team of detectives, who documented the incident.
Maate said that statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, and the body was taken to Kisoro Hospital for postmortem examination.
