President Yoweri Museveni, has fulfilled his pledge of donating 41 dairy animals to the Katakwi District Councilors.

The donation was officially handed over on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, by the Vice President, Rtd Maj. Jessica Rose Alupo Epel, at a designated holding ground in Ajesai Village, Getom Sub-county, Ngariam County in Katakwi District.

According to Vice President Alupo, this is the first time such a donation has been made by the President to the leaders of Katakwi, marking a significant milestone in government support for local development.

President Museveni made the pledge during a three-day wealth creation tour of the Teso sub-region last year, where he emphasized the need to adopt modern agricultural enterprises to fight poverty.

He urged the people of Teso to utilize their fertile land for economic transformation through fruit growing, fish farming, and dairy production.
