KIRUHURA: President Yoweri Museveni has directed Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), and ministers to regularly appear on media platforms to update the public on government programs.
This directive comes after journalists from the Ankole sub-region raised concerns that many government officials fail to honor media invitations to explain state initiatives. President Museveni issued the order during a media interaction with journalists from Ankole discussing the Parish Development Model (PDM) and its impact on socio-economic transformation at his residence in Rwakitura, Kiruhura District on Thursday.
President Museveni warned that any RDC, CAO, or minister who defies this directive will be dismissed from their position.
Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, reiterated the president’s directive, emphasizing that out of the four hours of government-allocated airtime per month, two hours should be dedicated to discussing the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga programs.
