President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to continue his Parish Development Model (PDM) program today, April 15, 2025, in the Greater Mubende Region.
Greater Mubende Region comprises the districts of Mityana, Mubende, Kyankwanzi, Kasanda, and Kiboga.
According to a press release from the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Faruk Kirunda, the President will begin his tour with visits to selected farmers in Mityana and Kyankwanzi districts.
Later, he is expected to officially launch the Mubende Region Industrial Hub located in Kibuye-Vunga village, Bugonzi Parish, Kitenga Sub-county, Buwekula County in Mubende District.
On Wednesday, he will also hold a meeting with Parish Development Model leaders at Mirembe Maria Gardens in Kasanda District.
The President will conclude his tour on Thursday with the commissioning of USMID (Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development) roads in Mubende Municipality. In the afternoon, he is scheduled to address a major rally at Saza Playground in Kiwanguzi, Kiboga District.
The tour is expected to draw a large turnout, especially given the historical significance of the region—Greater Mubende is where President Museveni launched his liberation struggle with the attack on Kabamba barracks in 1981.
So far, President Museveni has visited several regions across the country to assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model, including Acholi, Lango, Teso, Karamoja, Bugisu, Busoga, Bukedi, Kigezi, Ankole, Bunyoro, and West Nile.
During these visits, he reiterated his commitment to increasing funding for the PDM to accelerate socio-economic transformation at the grassroots level.
