As part of this tour, the President is scheduled to commission the 132kV substation, whose construction has been completed.

“We expect this substation to supply all the power needed for factories, eliminating any excuses for those who want to start factories in this area,” Minister Musasizi stated.

He emphasized that the new substation will significantly reduce power outages in the region.

The $83 million project, constructed by Ceylex Engineering, is located in Karukara, Rubanda District.

It serves as the final component of the 132kV Mirama-Kabale Transmission Line, which aims to improve power supply across the Kigezi region.
