Residents of Bushuro Parish in Kitumba Sub-county, Kabale District, are up in arms against the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Hon. David Bahati, over unfulfilled pledges and poor service delivery.

The concerns were raised on Monday during a sensitization and mobilization meeting held at Mutojo Playground in Mutojo Village, where Minister Bahati met residents from Bushuro, Mutojo, and Kirwa villages ahead of the National Resistance Movement-NRM party primaries scheduled for July 16, 2025.

Residents accused Bahati and other leaders of neglecting their needs since the 2021 general elections, particularly in areas of water access, electricity, road infrastructure, and overall social welfare.

Ronald Mwebesa, Chairperson of Mutojo Village, criticized the poor state of the bridge connecting Bushuro Parish to Kabale Town. He noted that the bridge is essential for school children, patients going to Rushoroza Hospital, and parishioners attending Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Parish.

However, they received no response. He questioned why Bahati only engages with them during election periods but remains unresponsive when they seek assistance.
