KANUNGU- The territorial Police in Kanungu district are currently hunting for unknown driver of motor vehicle registration number UBH 646D Isuzu elf blue in color who knocked a 16-year-old-boy along Nyamirama-Ishasha road.
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson has identified deceased as Owomugisha Stuart 16years old man a casual worker also a resident of Kaloni village, Western ward, Nyamirama town council, Kanungu district.
Maate narrated that motor vehicle registration number UBH 646D Isuzu elf blue in color failed to negotiate a corner and overturned and killed one passenger who died on spot while driver’s particulars not yet established as he is on the run.
A single fatal road traffic accident occurred on 28/11/2022 at around 06:00pm at Kaloni along Nyamirama Ishasha road.
Maate said that while the same vehicle loaded with timber was from Nyamirama heading to Ishasha side, reaching at Kaloni failed to negotiate a corner and overturned, killed one passenger on spot and left two others injured whose particulars are not yet known.
Police was informed, scene visited and the body was taken to Nyamirama health center iv mortuary and motor vehicle towed to Nyamirama police station pending iov inspection while Inquiries are still at hand.
The case of a single fatal road traffic accident was registered at Kanungu Central Police station under reference number TAR 28/2022.
