The Kabale District Kadhi, Sheikh Kabugho Lule, has emphasized that Islam is not terrorism and terrorism is not Islam. He made the remarks while leading Eid Al-Adha Prayers at Masjid Jaamia Kirigime Mosque in Kabale Municipality.

Sheikh Lule stated that there is no verse in the Quran that advocates for terrorism, reiterating that Islam is a religion of peace and its followers are peaceful people. He urged the public to stop associating acts of terrorism with the Islamic faith.

He called on security agencies and the government to treat any Muslim found engaging in criminal activity as an individual Ugandan offender, rather than generalizing and blaming the entire Islamic religion.

“Even in times of war,” he added, “Islam prohibits acts of violence and injustice,” reiterating that the faith strongly condemns terrorism.
