NEWS – In a shocking revelation, a document detailing alleged criminality and fraud within the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has been made public, casting a dark cloud over the party’s leadership.
The accusations specifically target Hon. Ssemujju Nganda, a prominent member of the FDC, raising questions about his integrity and financial dealings. The document, presented by Hon. James Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the FDC Secretary General, claims to expose a web of corruption and illicit activities involving Nganda and his family.

According to the document, Nganda, who is also the Chief Whip, has reportedly received substantial sums of money from the government for various purposes, including purchasing vehicles. However, it is alleged that Nganda never returned the money allocated to him for the vehicle. These accusations have raised concerns about his compliance with ethical standards and financial transparency.
Furthermore, the document highlights Hon. Ssemujju’s extravagant campaign spending, particularly in erecting expensive billboards during previous electoral campaigns. The sources of funding for these campaigns remain undisclosed, leaving room for speculation about potential impropriety.
The controversy surrounding the FDC deepens with the involvement of Lord Mayor Lukwago, who allegedly received a court reward of over 500 million shillings from the government. Critics argue that while Lukwago was compensated, other Ugandans with similar court victories have not received their rightful payments. This raises questions about President Museveni’s motives, with some suggesting that these payments indicate an underlying interest in favoring certain individuals.
Hon. James Nathan Nandala Mafabi has voiced his concerns over the lack of accountability and oversight in the government agencies responsible for investigating these allegations. He further asserts that the FDC had chosen to remain silent, hoping that the appropriate authorities would address the issue. However, in light of the gravity of the accusations, the FDC has decided to bring the matter to the public’s attention, urging them to judge for themselves.
In response to these allegations, Hon. James Nathan Nandala Mafabi challenges Hon. Ssemujju Nganda and his supporters to respond to the document and address the serious concerns raised. Mafabi also challenges Nganda to disclose his personal assets and business interests, emphasizing the need for transparency and fair competition within the FDC.
It remains to be seen how these allegations will impact the upcoming FDC Secretary General election and the party’s democratic processes. However, the FDC leadership is determined to remain focused on their electoral roadmap and is determined not to let this fraction of leaders derail their progress.
As this scandal unfolds, Ugandans across the country are left questioning the moral authority and integrity of those entrusted with leading political parties, raising concerns about corruption, transparency, and accountability within the FDC.
The Forum for Democratic Change now faces a critical test of its ability to address these allegations and maintain its commitment to democratic principles in the face of mounting controversy.
