DOKOLO: The ruling NRM district conference in Dokolo district has reaffirmed their support for party flag bearer Janet Adongo Rose Alau in the heated district Woman Member of Parliament race, following the passing of Cecilia Ogwal.

Adongo previously carried the NRM flag during the 2021 general elections.

The delegates gathered at Dokolo Technical School in Dokolo Town council.

During the event, NRM Deputy Secretary General Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, the chief guest, commended Dokolo party members for their willingness to unite and rally behind the flag bearer.

“Many of you understand that NRM transcends individuals, which is why some potential independent candidates stepped aside to consolidate support for Rose Adongo,” Namayanja said.

“If elected, Janet Adongo will collaborate closely with constituency MPs and the government to deliver services to the people,” Namayanja added.

Namayanja also emphasized the importance of supporting a ruling party aspirant who can expedite services and government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM).

Hon. Rosemary Seninde, the director of Mobilisation, expressed gratitude to those who initially expressed interest in the Dokolo seat but withdrew for political harmony within the NRM.

“Thank you for prioritizing Uganda’s interests and rallying behind one candidate. Withdrawal doesn’t signify weakness but rather unity and teamwork,” Seninde said, acknowledging the three aspirants who stepped aside in support of Janet Adongo.

She assured delegate members of the NRM’s enduring presence, highlighting the party’s commitment to delivering services through programs like the Parish Development Model and Emyooga.
