KAMPALA – The Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Uganda, Most Rt Rev Dr. Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu has decried the scarcity of virgin ladies in Uganda, noting that promoting virginity is sometimes viewed as backwardness.

He emphasized God’s power, stating that God can cause a virgin woman to conceive without engaging in sexual activities.

“I often encourage women to pray for men going astray, believing in the effectiveness of prayer. I advise praying for their protection from HIV/AIDS and, in a humorous tone, asking for a ‘running stomach’ to deter them from straying further. For married individuals facing infidelity, I suggest prayer and creating peace for oneself, acknowledging that not everything can be controlled, and entrusting the rest to God,” Archbishop Kazimba shared during the Parliamentary Christmas Carols celebration.

Kazimba urged Members of Parliament and men in Uganda to follow Joseph’s example by not pursuing DNA tests in cases of doubtful parentage. Instead, he advocated embracing these children, drawing parallels with Joseph’s acceptance of Jesus, to foster peace and harmony in homes.

Reflecting on the Anti-Homosexuality Act, Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa praised the 11th Parliament for passing the law in 2023, citing positive public feedback and expressions of appreciation rarely received.

“This House isn’t very easy your Grace, it is very difficult to make a decision here and you receive a call to say thank you. And that is why this year has really been great for us, at least there is one decision we made and we received a call to say thank you. And that is passing the Anti-Homosexuality Act. Someone else would say, what else would you have done, that is what you are supposed to do. But when you fail, they roast you,” said Tayebwa.
