HOIMA: Rt. Rev. Jacob Ateirweho was consecrated and enthroned as the 6th Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese on Sunday in a vibrant ceremony at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Hoima. He succeeds Bishop Samuel Kahuma.
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, served as the main celebrant, while Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja represented H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the chief guest.
In his sermon, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, Bishop of South Ankole Diocese and retreat leader, urged the faithful to wear the helmet of salvation for protection from sin.
President Museveni donated a brand-new Land Cruiser and UGX 30 million to the newly consecrated Bishop Ateirweho.
The organizing committee, on behalf of the Christians, presented a brand-new Toyota Harrier to the retiring Bishop Samuel Kahuma.
Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja also contributed UGX 5 million each to Bishop Ateirweho and Bishop Kahuma.
