Bishop Aloysius Kiiza of Lift Up Jesus Ministries in Kabale District has called on politicians and citizens to uphold peace and order as the country prepares for the 2026 general elections.

Delivering his Christmas message to Journalists at River Side Hotel in Kabale Municipality on Wednesday, Bishop Kiiza emphasized unity and civility during the festive season and beyond. “Let this season not be marred by violence, division, or hatred. Our leaders and citizens must demonstrate maturity, respect, and godliness in all their actions,” he said.

He urged Ugandans to embrace peace, reconciliation, and love, noting that the message of Jesus Christ is one of reconciliation, both with God and among people. He stressed the importance of humility and unity, particularly at a time when political tensions often rise.

Bishop Kiiza also highlighted the need for family reconciliation, encouraging Christians to use the holiday season to forgive past grievances, strengthen family bonds, and support those in need. He cautioned against allowing Christmas celebrations to turn into occasions for excess, alcohol abuse, or conflict, urging believers to keep the focus on love, peace, and unity.

Reflecting on the biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ, Bishop Kiiza reminded worshippers that although the Savior came for the whole world, there was no room for Him in the inn. He explained that this rejection symbolizes how many people today still hesitate to allow Christ to be born in their hearts.

He challenged Christians to make 2025 a meaningful year by deliberately opening the “inns” of their hearts to Christ, noting that welcoming Jesus brings healing, peace, joy, and restoration of one’s relationship with God. According to the Bishop, true transformation begins when individuals make room for Christ in their lives.

Bishop Kiiza further reflected on the humility of Christ’s birth, reminding believers that Jesus, though the Son of God, was born in a manger. He said this powerful symbol teaches humility and simplicity, virtues that should guide Christians regardless of their status or position in society.

He urged leaders and community members alike to emulate Christ’s example by practicing humility, serving others, and being willing to “come down” in order to uplift those around them. Bishop Kiiza encouraged believers to carry the message of humility, love, and service beyond the Christmas season and into the new year.
