Church of Uganda Dismisses False Reports on Diocesan Leadership Transitions

KAMPALA – The Church of Uganda has vehemently rejected false reports on Diocesan leadership transitions, urging the public to disregard them with contempt.

According to Sadiiki Adams, the Commutations Officer, ongoing transitions in Namirembe and Luwero Dioceses follow established procedures, with the House of Bishops addressing concerns.

In Namirembe, a committee reviews nominations, and a follow-up meeting in November will determine the next steps.

In Luwero, Rt Rev James William Ssebaggala serves as caretaker Bishop until March 2024. Sadiiki assures that church ministry is unaffected in both Dioceses.
