The Kabale Diocese Priest, Rev. Fr. Nelson Agaba, has urged Christians whose Valentine’s Day promises went unfulfilled to embrace forgiveness, remain strong and defend their dignity.
During his homily at the second Mass on Sunday at Christ the King Catholic Parish in Kabale Municipality, Fr. Agaba encouraged believers to thank God and treat prayer as an offering, emphasizing resilience and understanding in relationships.
He called on Christians to actively live out their faith, serving as a guiding light in the world, and to embrace a heart-centered approach to righteousness.
“Faith should not be hidden but demonstrated through actions that glorify God,” he said, stressing that Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets and calls for a deeper, genuine obedience.
Fr. Agaba highlighted the importance of internal purity, noting that anger, contempt, and lust begin in the heart and are as serious as outward sins. He urged Christians to prioritize reconciliation, settle disputes promptly, and practice self-discipline even when it requires personal sacrifice.
The priest also reminded believers of the sanctity of marriage, cautioned against easy divorce, and advocated for honesty in daily life, saying one’s word should always be simple and truthful.
