Kabale Diocese has donated two bulls and 400 kilograms of rice to inmates at Ndorwa Government Prison as a continuation of the ongoing 2025 Jubilee Year celebrations under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” charity drive and way of celebrating Easter festivities.

Representing the diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, the donation was on Saturday handed over by Rev. Fr. Fred Birungi, the Parish Priest of Christ the King Catholic Church and Dean of Rushoroza Deanery, along with Nicodemus Odo Tumukwasibwe, the head of laity.

Rev. Fr. Birungi explained that the gesture was a sign of unity and love for the inmates, especially during Easter, a time they cannot celebrate with their families.

Tumukwasibwe echoed this sentiment, stating that even inmates deserve to feel loved, emphasizing that “everyone is a candidate for prison.” He noted that the donation aimed to bring hope and the joy of Easter to those behind bars, reminding them that faith remains with them regardless of their circumstances.

Julius Kisembo, the Officer in Charge of Ndorwa Government Prison, expressed deep gratitude to Kabale Diocese for the generous donation and its continued support of the inmates.

“I want to appreciate Bishop Rubaramira for the great donation,” Kisembo said. “It has been a tradition of the Diocese to give, usually one cow, but this time the donation has gone beyond expectations. Two bulls are a big boost to us. We are truly thankful.”
