KABALE – Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, has emphasized the importance of love and forgiveness in maintaining strong marital bonds, urging married couples to prioritize these values and thereby prevent divorces.
Hon. Atwakiire conveyed this message yesterday during the wedding reception of Tukamushaba Onesmus, the bodyguard of Bufumbira North Member of Parliament, Hon. Kamara John Ninzeimana. The event took place at the Kabirago Primary School playground within Rubaya Sub County in Kabale District and her message was delivered by her political assistant, Mr. Alex Akampurira.
Highlighting the sanctity of marriage as a divine institution, Hon. Atwakiire stressed that its foundation and longevity hinge on essential elements such as love, respect, forgiveness, and trust. She called on couples to actively cultivate these qualities in their relationships.
Moreover, the parliamentarian encouraged spouses to collaborate diligently for the progress and prosperity of their families, emphasizing the significance of unity and cooperation.
The wedding ceremony itself occurred at Kitooma Church of Uganda, situated in the Rukore Archdeaconry of Kigezi Diocese.
