KAZO – Parishioners at St. Paul Kazo Catholic parish in Kazo Town council, Kazo district, urgently seek the transfer of Rev. Fr. Deo Mugisha. Allegations include engaging in inappropriate relationships, mismanagement of funds, and theft of parish properties.
Reliable sources reveal that Fr. Mugisha transferred the Parish nurse and maintained secretive connections with married women, raising concerns among the Christian community.
Christians, opting for anonymity, disclosed that the priest and church leaders initiated a loan repayment plan from ISSIA SACCO for church construction. However, Fr. Mugisha allegedly diverted funds for personal use, presenting forged accountability reports.
Families were instructed to contribute 100,000 shillings each for the loan, but the actual amount collected remains unknown due to questionable accounting practices.
Incidents of altering figures in parish records, such as changing received amounts from 550,000 to 200,000 shillings, have fueled suspicions about financial misconduct.
Rev. Fr. Deo Mugisha is accused of accessing the Parish Council Chairperson’s office to tamper with evidence collected against him during council meetings.
Parishioners also claim that Mugisha was caught with parish property (timbers, tree logs, iron sheets), suggesting unauthorized sales of several parish assets.
