Kigezi Homeboyz Football Club boosted their relegation survival hopes with a dramatic 4-3 win over Buhimba United Saints FC in the FUFA Big League on Sunday evening.
The thrilling encounter was held at Kigaya Church of Uganda Playground in Kikuube District, where Joseph Seremba and Charles Waibi each netted a brace to seal a crucial victory for the visitors.
This marks the second consecutive win for Kigezi Homeboyz in their fight to stay in the league. On 8th June 2025, they defeated Paidha Black Angels FC 1-0 in a tightly contested match at Al Madina Stadium in Kabale Municipality.
The lone goal was scored in the 34th minute by Seremba, who pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area, dribbled past two defenders, and calmly slotted it into the near post, sending the home crowd into celebration.
Following Sunday’s win, Kigezi Homeboyz now sit in 12th position on the league table, with just one fixture remaining in the season. They will host MYDA FC on 21st June 2025 at Al Madina Stadium in what could be a decisive match for their survival.
Speaking after the game, Kigezi Homeboyz interim head coach Aggrey Madoi commended his players for their resilience and teamwork.
“The boys showed great coordination and commitment. This win is a result of their hard work. We will continue fighting until the very last game to ensure we avoid relegation,” said Madoi.
