UPDF Investigates Helicopter Crash in Karamoja

KARAMOJA – The Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) is currently investigating an Air Force helicopter crash that occurred in Karamoja.

 

The incident happened at Nadiket village, near Moroto Barracks, in Loptuk sub-country, Moroto district, on a Saturday afternoon.

The helicopter involved was an MI 24 (Gunship) with Reg No. AF 822, which crash-landed during routine operations in the Karamoja sub-region, falling under the 3rd Division’s area of responsibility.

All the crew members, including the pilot, are safe. The scene of the accident has been secured for further management.

 

The UPDF requests the surrounding community members to avoid accessing the accident scene to ensure that the ongoing investigations by the UPDF Air Force experts’ technical team are not compromised.
