IBANDA: Police in Ibanda district are investigating the murder of a 73-year-old man in Keihangaaara Sub County.
The victim, Deus Kabagambe Dedita, resided in Kaaburo II Cell, Rugaaga Parish, Keihangaara sub-county. He was allegedly killed by unidentified attackers.
According to a police statement, Dedita left his home around 3:00 PM yesterday and was later discovered dead along a village footpath some distance away.
Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region Police spokesperson, reported that a murder case was filed, and the crime scene was examined and documented thoroughly.
Kasasira stated that the deceased had suffered a deep wound to the head, likely inflicted with a blunt object. The body was taken to Ruhoko Health Center IV for postmortem examination, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspects.
