In his sermon, Rev. Just Ayebare drew lessons from the biblical story of Jacob and Esau found in the book of Genesis. He highlighted how Esau, the elder son, carelessly traded his birthright for a mere bowl of stew, sacrificing his dignity and inheritance for temporary gratification. Rev. Ayebare emphasized that Christians are called to cherish and protect the blessings and responsibilities that come with their faith. He added that as Esau’s decision had far-reaching consequences, our choices can also impact our lives and the lives of those around us.

Rev. Ayebare urged the Christians to learn from Esau’s mistake and to jealously guard their dignity. He added that Christians must not be like Esau, who traded his birthright for momentary satisfaction, but should hold fast to the promises of God and the dignity that comes with being His children.
