The territorial police of Kisoro District are holding a man in the police custody on the allegations of murdering his biological father over unknown reason in Kisoro district
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokesperson has identified the suspect as Pafura Munezero a resident of Gafurizo village Karambi parish Nyarubuye sub county Kisoro district who allegedly murdered his biological father identified as Yonesani Bwemera of the same address.
Maate told journalists on 26/12/2022 that it’s allegedly that on the 21/12/2022 at around 09:00pm in the Gafurizo village, the suspect hit his father with a hoe on the head for yet unknown reasons, injuring him critically and went into hiding.
Meanwhile the relatives took the victim to St Francis hospital Mutolere for treatment where he was later referred to Mbarara Regional Referral hospital where he died from on the 25/12/2022 at about 2300hrs.
Maate narrated that on learning of his death, the chairperson of the village mobilized the residents who searched for the suspect, arrested him and took him to Kisoro police station thus registering the case of murder on the 26/12/2022 under reference number CRB 889/2022
“Body was taken to Kisoro hospital for post-mortem while Inquiries still going on” Maate says.
