KISORO: A total of 56 out of 58 PDM Saccos in Kisoro district have so far received their PDM funds on WENDI accounts, each amounting to 100,500,000 shillings according to Dr. Ngabo Herbat Bubasha, the PDM coordinator for Kisoro district.
Dr. Ngabo says that most of these Saccos are prepared to distribute the funds to beneficiaries. Dr. Ngabo reported that several sub-counties, including Muramba parish, have already received their allocations, with Muramba parish receiving 49 million shillings. He emphasized that other parishes are also ready to receive their funds, despite delays in their disbursement.
One of the challenges faced, Dr. Ngabo noted, is the processing of beneficiaries’ identities, complicated by cases where individuals changed their contact details without notifying PDM authorities, thereby slowing down the process.

Meanwhile, Assistant RDC Hagumimana Vallence of Kisoro condemned individuals attempting to bribe their way into receiving PDM funds. He emphasized that any beneficiary found engaging in bribery would be required to return one million shillings. He urged the public to report any instances of bribery to the RDC’s office with evidence to facilitate investigations.

He further clarified that the PDM initiative aims to benefit all Ugandans, warning against money lenders who are illegally confiscating national identification documents as collateral for loans used to secure bribes for PDM funds.
