KISORO: The NRM Deputy National Treasurer, Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuheire, has urged leaders in Kisoro District under the NRM party to unite in supporting the NRM flag bearer in the by-election to strengthen the party’s presence among the people.
This call comes after National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman for Kisoro District, Dr. Philemon Mateke, stated that the party currently has no flag bearer for the Kisoro District Woman Member of Parliament by-election.
Kisoro District NRM General Secretary, Joseph Kanyabugoyi, accused some party leaders in the district of withholding support from Honorable Rose Kabagyeni, the party’s official candidate in the Woman MP by-election.
Kanyabugoyi specifically named Vice Chairperson Ndikuyeze Ramadan and Bukimbiri County MP Eddie Kwizera Wa Gahungu as leaders who have opposed support for Kabagyeni since the start of campaigns. He described this internal discord as detrimental to the party’s unity.
Now, while campaigning for NRM flag bearer Rose Kabagyeni in Bufumbira North County on Tuesday, Kyatuheire noted that reconciliation among party supporters and leaders is essential to strengthen the party’s structures and lay a foundation for effective service delivery. She emphasized that unity among leaders ensures that services reach the grassroots more easily.
