RUKIGA: Police in Rukiga District, South Western Uganda have arrested a 57 year’s HIV positive old man in Muhanga town council for defiling a four years old girl.
The suspect identified as Alfred Rukundo, a resident of Kitaburaza cell, Nyakabungo ward in Muhanga town council, Rukiga district is accused of defiling the victim
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the suspect is detained at Rukiga Central Police station. Maate says that the incident occurred on Wednesday at around 06:00PM.
Maate said that the suspect called the victim and took her to his father’s house where he stayed in the sitting room and removed her nicker and had sexual intercourse with her.
He said that fortunately, there was a woman in the neighborhood who saw him, went and informed the victim’s mother Asimwe Charity and they went and found them ready handed.
According to Maate, the mother reported at Bukinda police station on Thursday, the scene was visited and documented, the victim was examined and the suspect was accordingly arrested.
He said that the suspect confessed but claims were under the influence of alcohol. He was medically tested and found to be HIV positive and the victim was subjected to PEP.
