RUKUNGIRI: The lead pastor of Jerusalem Church in Rukungiri District, Pastor Bosco Mubangyizi Kahigyi, is on the spot for allegedly impregnating a 20-year-old woman, Winnie Musiimenta.
Musiimenta, a resident of Nyakabungo in Buyanja Sub County, alleges that Pastor Mubangyizi lured her into a sexual relationship under the pretense of offering educational support.
She recounts being taken to church conferences and housed in rented accommodations across Rukungiri, Kihihi, and Ntungamo districts, which she claims were part of the pastor’s attempts to conceal the abuse.
She further alleges that Pastor Mubangyizi initially introduced her to family planning methods, which later caused severe health complications, including fibroids that required surgery.
Despite these measures, Musiimenta says she became pregnant and was coerced into having an abortion at a health facility. She now suffers from abdominal complications, which doctors are still working to diagnose.

Enock Muronda, Musiimenta’s father, claims the relationship between his daughter and Pastor Mubangyizi began five years ago during a radio prayer session, when Musiimenta requested a Bible.
Muronda alleges that the pastor used this as an opportunity to involve Musiimenta in church activities and later convinced her to leave home, promising to sponsor her education.
