KYOTERA: NRM leaders in the Buganda region have reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the government’s achievements and mobilizing support for President Yoweri Museveni and party flag bearers ahead of the 2026 elections.
During a gathering at Nabbunga playgrounds in Kalisizo Town Council, Kyotera District, on Sunday, ministers, Members of Parliament, and local leaders from the central region joined NRM Deputy Secretary-General Rose Namayanja in a campaign dubbed “Buganda for Museveni.”
Hosted by State Minister for Microfinance Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo, the leaders emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the lives of Ugandans. They highlighted completed projects such as the construction of over 15 health centers, SEED schools, and poverty alleviation initiatives like Emyooga and the Parish Development Model, which provide accessible credit to boost household incomes.
In her remarks, Namayanja urged the people of Buganda to rally behind the NRM government to ensure they are not left behind in terms of development.
“It is through NRM Members of Parliament that government services are lobbied. Vote for President Museveni and NRM MPs to ensure government promises are fulfilled,” Namayanja stated.
She further emphasized the importance of securing strong support for the party in the central region, reminiscent of the early 2000s when the NRM enjoyed overwhelming backing.
Namayanja also called on voters to elect legislators based on their performance and ability to deliver.
“We no longer want non-performing MPs. We need leaders who can lobby the government for essential services such as clean water, good roads, and improved social services,” she stressed.
Minister Kasolo reassured residents of the government’s commitment to service delivery and urged them to continue trusting the NRM in the upcoming general elections.
“The NRM government understands your challenges and is dedicated to finding lasting solutions. We are committed to ensuring continued progress for all Ugandans,” Kasolo affirmed.
