This year’s study tour focuses on Rwanda’s Agricultural Policy, evaluating its effectiveness in ensuring the country’s resilience against unforeseen agricultural shocks and potential crises.

Given challenges such as disasters, climate change, and population growth, a comprehensive reassessment of the agriculture sector’s sustainability and resilience is essential.

Students have been divided into four teams, each assigned to a different province for their research.

On the first day, they visited key agricultural institutions, including the RAB Rubirizi Seed Laboratory, the RAB Rubirizi Veterinary Laboratory, the Gorilla Animal Feeds Factory, and the INYANGE Milk Factory.

These visits aim to provide firsthand insights into Rwanda’s agricultural policies and their implementation.

The NST 2025 is expected to generate valuable recommendations on strengthening Rwanda’s agricultural sector to support national security and sustainable development.
