Police in Rukungiri District have launched a manhunt for 32-year-old Tumuramye Vanansio, who is accused of killing his wife, 42-year-old Annet Arinaitwe, under unclear circumstances.

The couple, residents of Kabasoni Cell in Nyakitabire Parish, Ruhinda Sub-county, were reportedly involved in a violent altercation during the early hours of Saturday, April 26, 2025.

According to preliminary police findings, the pair returned home late on the night of April 25 after socializing at Omurusandasi Trading Center.

Following supper, Arinaitwe allegedly suggested they return to the trading center for more drinking, a proposal Tumuramye declined before they both retired to bed.
