The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has postponed all elections scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) in the Bunyoro sub-region and Greater Luweero districts.

The decision was made to accommodate President Yoweri Museveni’s ongoing visit and Parish Development Model (PDM) tours in the affected areas.

According to the NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, elections will also not be held in Arua City and Amolatar District due to unresolved petitions.

Dr. Odoi announced the postponement on Thursday while releasing guidelines for the district and city structure elections taking place across the rest of the country on Friday.

Despite the postponement in certain districts, Dr. Odoi confirmed that expressions of interest, nominations, campaigns, and elections for the Workers and Entrepreneurs Leagues at the district and city levels will proceed as scheduled.
