The Ministry of Health Uganda has officially addressed ongoing speculation regarding a possible resurgence of COVID-19, reassuring the public that there is no new outbreak in the country.
In a press release shared on the Ministry’s social media platforms on Wednesday, officials confirmed that the national COVID-19 situation remains stable and fully under control, as it has been since the major outbreak three years ago.
Recent concerns expressed by Ugandans on social media have sparked fear and panic, which, if left unaddressed, could negatively impact key sectors such as tourism, investment, and travel.
Emmanuel Ainebyoona, the Ministry’s Senior Public Relations Officer, condemned the spread of misinformation, particularly on platforms like TikTok, describing it as alarming.
He urged the public to refrain from sharing false information that could cause unnecessary panic.
