The Member of Parliament for Ndorwa East, Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba, in partnership with Lyamujungu SACCO, is set to roll out a transformative initiative aimed at empowering Boda Boda riders to become motorcycle owners.

Speaking on Friday while handing over forked hoes to residents of Muyumbu and Nyakagyera parishes in Kyanamira Sub-county, Kabale District, MP Niwagaba, popularly known as Rugamba’amazima, announced that the initiative targets riders who currently hire motorcycles for daily transport services.

He revealed that arrangements have already been finalized with a motorcycle manufacturing company to supply the bikes. Under the scheme, riders will organize themselves into groups of 100 members per sub-county. Each group will then purchase 13 motorcycles every quarter for its members.

“If the plan is followed faithfully, all members will have acquired their own motorcycles within 32 months,” Hon. Niwagaba said.

Meanwhile, Kyanamira Sub-county District Councillor Bridget Asiinga Tumwesigye revealed that plans are in motion to extend clean and safe water to Muyumbu Health Centre II in the next financial year.
