The Kisoro Students Association at Metropolitan International University, Kisoro Campus, has launched a demonstration poultry project aimed at curbing unemployment among graduates and equipping students with practical skills for self-reliance.
The project, situated in Chahi Village within Kisoro Municipality, is funded by Kisoro Municipality Member of Parliament aspirant, Dr. Leo Mfitimana.
Speaking during the launch on Thursday, Guild President Alex Mbonye noted that the initiative would not only provide students with a source of income during their academic journey but also empower them with hands-on experience in agribusiness.
“We thank Dr. Mfitimana for supporting this vision. This project gives students an opportunity to become financially independent while still in school. It will also ease the burden on parents,” Mbonye said.

He said the poultry farm has the potential to boost productivity among youth post-graduation and reduce the financial strain on families when graduates struggle to find employment.
“If well-managed, this project can attract more youth and serve as a model for sustainable development,” Dr. Mfitimana stated.
