Former Ndorwa West MP aspirant, Tracy Immaculate Ninsiima, has officially declared her intention to contest for the Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament seat in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

Ninsiima, who surprised many by emerging second in the hotly contested 2021 Ndorwa West parliamentary race, posing a serious challenge to incumbent Minister of State for Industry David Kwesiga Bahati, is now setting her sights on a broader political platform.

Her entry into the Woman MP race is already making waves across Kabale District. Campaign posters bearing her image and the slogan “Effective Representation, Unity, and God First” have sprung up across street corners, tree trunks, and trading centres, signaling a well-prepared and early campaign rollout.

A resident of Mukarangye Ward in Katuna Town Council, Ninsiima is affiliated with the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a political pressure group that backs the presidential ambitions of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the First Son and current Chief of Defence Forces.

In the 2021 elections, Ninsiima stood out as the only female candidate in the Ndorwa West parliamentary race, securing 3,796 votes, surpassing four male contenders and finishing second only to Minister Bahati. She now hopes to consolidate that support district-wide.

In the upcoming February 2026 polls, Ninsiima is expected to face off against incumbent Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, and Enid Origumisiriza, who won the NRM primary election on July 17, 2025.

Other contenders eyeing the Kabale District Woman MP seat include: Grace Ankunda Bwesigye, former Ndorwa East MP aspirant, Trust Kyomugisha, a well-known Voice of Kigezi radio presenter and Immaculate Kagwa Nyemera, a Kampala-based businesswoman.

With a growing support base and a reputation for bold, grassroots engagement, Ninsiima’s candidacy is expected to inject fresh energy and stiff competition into the 2026 Kabale District Woman MP race.
