The newly appointed Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Bron Kikanshemeza, has pledged a hands-on leadership approach, emphasizing field engagement over office routines as he officially assumed his new role.
Kikanshemeza, who was transferred from Rubirizi District, replaces Steven Nsubuga Bewayo, the outgoing RDC who served in Rukungiri for over four years and has now been posted to Pakwach District.
Speaking to our reporter on Monday, Kikanshemeza called for teamwork and unity among district leaders, urging public officials to actively engage with communities and prioritize service delivery at the grassroots.
“I believe leadership is about presence and action. We must get out of our offices and be visible where services are needed most,” he stated.
He further urged his counterparts to serve with integrity, fairness, and without discrimination, assuring them of his commitment to being a servant of the people.
“I am not here to rule but to serve. Let’s work together to transform Rukungiri,” he added.
