The Ndorwa West Constituency Member of Parliament-elect, Eliab Naturinda Mporera, has pledged to prioritize development and inclusive governance following his victory in the January 15th general elections.

Naturinda, who defeated the incumbent area MP, also Minister of State for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives (Industry), both in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries and the general elections, thanked residents for trusting him with the mandate.

He described his win as a reflection of the people’s confidence in dedicated and selfless leadership.

In last year’s NRM primaries, Naturinda garnered 25,027 votes, securing 50.9% against Bahati’s 23,759 votes (48.3%) and Edwards Mwesigwa’s 416 votes (0.8%).

In the January 15th general elections, Kabale District Returning Officer Aisha Nasubunga announced that Naturinda received 22,601 votes, defeating Bahati, who ran as an independent, with 17,282 votes.

He emphasized serving all citizens fairly, promising dignity, respect, and equal attention to every resident, including those who did not vote for him.

Naturinda also expressed gratitude to NRM supporters in Kigezi for voting President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, noting that the president’s victory brought pride to the region.

He commended local business communities and his campaign team for their unwavering support.

“Unity, courage, and collaboration will be key to achieving sustainable development for Ndorwa West,” Naturinda said, pledging to work closely with stakeholders to improve livelihoods and opportunities for all.
