The Resident Judge of the Kiboga High Court Circuit, Justice Jamson Karemani, has been formally installed as a Lay Canon of the Diocese of North West Ankole during a special service held at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Ibanda.

Justice Karemani was on Sunday installed alongside Byengoma Rosette, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, in a ceremony presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Amos Magezi.

The installation followed their earlier designation as Lay Canon Designates during the First Meeting of the Third Synod of the Diocese, where Bishop Magezi recognized them for their exemplary Christian witness and dedicated service to both the Church and society.

The colourful service attracted clergy, judicial officers, government officials, lay leaders, family members, and congregants from across the Diocese, who gathered to witness the milestone.

The office of Lay Canon is an honorary yet functional position in the Anglican Church, conferred upon distinguished lay Christians in recognition of faithful service and entrusted with supporting the ministry and mission of the Church.
