The Kabale Grade One Magistrate Court on Friday charged eight suspects with 41 counts of obtaining money by false pretense and remanded them to Ndorwa Government Prison.
The suspects include Adora Sheva (24), Isaac Mushambo (27), Junior Ayebare (25), Immaculate Ingabire (22), Allan Nkomejje (37), Prossy Kyasimire (30), Peter Nagendo (27), and Francis Sadic (25).
Prosecution told court that between December 2025 and February 2026, the suspects, allegedly operating from Nyakahita Cell in Central Division within Kabale Municipality, conned 41 victims of amounts ranging from Sh100,000 to Sh3 million. They reportedly promised to secure them employment opportunities through Canaan Dream Visionaries Organization.
The suspects denied the charges. Prosecution informed court that investigations are still ongoing and requested more time to complete inquiries.
Presiding magistrate Her Worship Aziza Nyenvu remanded the suspects until March 5, 2026, when they will return to court for mention and further court guidance.
