The Regional Community Liaison Officer and Public Relations Officer for Greater Bushenyi, SP Tayebwa Apollo, has urged couples experiencing challenges in their marriages and relationships to seek guidance from trusted and experienced individuals in order to avoid devastating consequences.

According to SP Tayebwa, marriage remains one of the most fulfilling institutions for many people, but it has also become increasingly challenging for a number of couples.

In a message addressing relationship challenges, he appealed to professional counsellors, religious leaders, and other duty bearers tasked with supporting families to continue offering patient and results-oriented guidance to couples facing difficulties.

SP Tayebwa emphasized that couples encountering serious problems in their relationships should not suffer in silence but instead seek advice from people who have stable and successful marriages.

He noted that many individuals mistakenly believe that sharing their marital struggles is a sign of weakness, yet in reality, opening up to the right people is a sign of strength.

The police officer warned that failure to seek guidance has in many cases led to serious consequences, including domestic violence and other conflicts that have negatively affected families and communities.

He therefore encouraged couples to speak to trusted counsellors or individuals in stable relationships who can provide constructive advice rather than worsening the situation.

“Opening up to the right person often provides psychological healing and helps couples find solutions to the challenges they face,” SP Tayebwa said.

He reaffirmed the importance of community support systems and professional counselling in strengthening marriages and promoting peaceful family life.
