The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira, has urged Christians to shun evil that separates them from the Lord.
Bishop Rubaramira made the call on Friday while leading prayers to mark the start of the Way of the Cross at Ave Maria St. Catherine Kitumba Catholic Church in Kitumba Sub- County, Kabale District.
He emphasized that Christians should always turn to Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself for the salvation of humanity.
Bishop Rubaramira also cautioned believers against being overwhelmed by the challenges of the world, noting that such trials should instead draw them closer to God. He observed that some Christians tend to drift away from Christ when faced with difficulties, despite His sacrifice on the cross for their sins.
He encouraged Christians to endure suffering in the same spirit as Jesus Christ, adding that the Way of the Cross should strengthen their faith, deepen their love, and remind them of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for mankind.
